Blue Painted Old Wood Door

With the last coat of paint I put on the old wood door in the front entry of the house the project has come to an end this weekend.

Blue Painted Old Wood Door Detail Shot:
Stripping off the old paint revealed all the beautifully carved details. We both love how the original bronze (polished) hardware contrasts with the blue.

Hey - that looks great! I have the exact same front door, aside from hardware and some of the trim. I've noticed that it must have been a pretty popular door, as a lot of houses in the area have it... maybe it's regional - I'm in Metro West Boston.

I haven't seen one around here so far, but I'm going to keep my eyes open now! Thanks.

Oh, it's beautiful!

I'm getting ready to work on our 1930 door with its multiple coats of paint...the original door knocker & mail slot polished up beautifully, but we need to buy new hardware for the handle.

We're restoring a 1930 Colonial in Mount Hope, RI.
