An Uninvited Guest to Get Rid Off

I do not want to know what kind of creature this is sitting on the wall...I caught it with the designated bug jar and gave it back to the outside world. This was not the first time either, and I sincerely hope that this is not an old house thing.

I saw one of those the other day in our kitchen sink. It was small. But really weird. Another world weird.

I think these bugs like dark damp places. Wet cement should thrill them. Elise

I know this is a very old post, but what you've got there is a house centipede. They're harmless (they have the ability to sting but never do unless they're about to be eaten), and they quiet helpfully eat the nymphs of more irritating small bugs (bed bugs, roaches, termites, et al.). We love them in NYC :), but I can understand how they'd be an unwelcome site in a happy un-roach threatened location.
