Installing Ceiling Mount Light Fixtures

Installing the new Ceiling Mount Light Fixtures was somewhat easy. There was no need to replace the old outlet boxes and I screwed the straps that hold the fixture directly into the ceiling (plaster with wooden lath boards).
There were four of these oldies...

Upstairs I installed a couple of flush mount light fixtures:

A semi flush ceiling mount light fixture for the living room:

And the old ceiling lamp in the dining room has been replaced by a playful chandelier:

What a great pictoral web site showing your changes and progress. I found this while looking for some direction on how to remove a ceiling can light and replace with a flush semi flush mount light fixture. Your site was one that appeared. After reviewing all you have done, I just thought I would ask, can you tell me how to do this? It is for our hall light. If you don't respond, just wanted to let you know how beautiful your home is. Thanks, Barbara

Thanks for your comment Barbara! Regarding your question, for what I know, you take the can light out and put a new standard electric box in the ceiling (flush) to which you then mount the new light fixture which usually comes with all you need to screw it to the box, including instructions on how to connect the wires. Good Luck.
