Insulating an old House -blown in insulation?
Lots of research went into blown in insulation. With a coastal location like this fiberglass is recommended as compared to cellulose which is more popular. Whatever is blown in it will settle and there will be moisture which may or may not be a problem over time. I never liked the idea of blown in insulation much -not knowing where it's going, how its filling up and so forth. And when I learned -I assume it's true- that far more cold air infiltration and heat loss result from improperly sealed windows, doors, ducts and the like, I was sold. Also, I'd rather replace some windows with those $3000...
